Room 6 Camp

Last week I was lucky enough to accompany Room 6 on their camp. The first night was spent at the Rapaka Marae and the second night at Living Springs.

Yet again I came home from a Waltham School camp feeling so fortunate to have spent my time with such a fantastic group of children and adults. Everyone participated positively in the huge range of camp activities. Walks, climbing, weaving, archery, swimming, farm yard, horse riding.... it was an amazing time.

A huge 'Thank You' to Mrs Topp for the wonderful job she did organising and running  the camp,  and to Mr Deadmarsh and Sylvia for joining us to help supervise and care for the group.

A huge 'Thank You', also to the Red Cross who's grant meant we were able to provide the $200+pp camping experience completely free to all families this year.
The class arrive and are welcomed on to the Rapaki Marae

A little more tired the next day...but still having fun!

Settling down for the night and story time at the Marae.

Climbing Wall fun at Living Springs.

Horse Riding at the farm.

More horse riding.

Cuddling up to the cute animals.

Some of us got to share a sheep.

Feeding the friendly sheep.

I hope you enjoy some of these photos.

We now look forward to Room 9's camp next term.

Room 6 Camp

Next Wednesday Room 6 students are off to camp at Living Springs. It will be my pleasure to attend this camp and share the experience with the other staff and students. Again we need to say a huge THANK YOU to the School BOT and Red Cross for working together to give this wonderful experience to our students at no cost to any of our families this year.

Friday 16th August

Hi to everyone out there in our school community,

Another week has zoomed by and it seems Spring is in the air!!!!

A huge THANK YOU to staff, parents and all the students who helped make our two weeks of swimming lessons so successful. It is an exhausting time for all but so worthwhile in the long term. A big thank you to the Red Cross as it was part of their 'Greater Christchurch schools Grant' that enabled us to deliver these lessons totally free of charge to all of our families.
